Type Thai (“we”, “us”, the “site”) is a website for learning Thai by typing — lessons, practice decks, games, and music. This page explains the rules for using the site and how we handle your information. We’ve kept it short and in plain language.
Terms of Service
Using the site
You’re welcome to use Type Thai to learn and practice. Please use it in a normal, good-faith way: don’t try to break, overload, scrape, or abuse the site, don’t use it for anything illegal, and don’t interfere with other people’s use of it.
Your account
You sign in with Google. You’re responsible for activity under your account, and you should keep your Google login secure. You can stop using the site at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and data (see below).
Content and decks
Some lessons and decks are created by us; others are shared by the community. If you create or upload a deck, you confirm you have the right to share that content, and you give us permission to host and display it on the site. We may remove content that is inaccurate, abusive, or that infringes someone else’s rights. The site itself — its design, code, and original lessons — belongs to Type Thai.
Free and Pro plans
The free plan includes a daily limit on game plays (the WPM speed test is unlimited). A Pro subscription unlocks unlimited games and premium lessons. Paid plans are billed through our payment provider (Stripe); we don’t see or store your full card details. If pricing or features change, we’ll update the site accordingly.
No guarantees
The site is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we can’t promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted, and learning results vary from person to person. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for losses arising from your use of the site.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a significant change, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
Privacy Policy
What we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address. As you use the site we store your learning data — things like words practiced, typing accuracy, streaks, saved and created decks, and game scores — so we can show your progress. If you subscribe to Pro, our payment provider handles the transaction and shares basic billing status with us.
How we use it
We use your information to run the site: to keep you signed in, save your progress, show your stats, manage your plan, and improve how the site works. We don’t sell your personal information.
Cookies and local storage
We use a cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser’s local storage to remember small preferences such as your light/dark theme. These are needed for the site to work properly.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the services that make the site run — for example Google (sign-in) and Stripe (payments) — or where we’re required to by law. Community decks you choose to publish are visible to other users.
Your choices
You can view and edit parts of your profile from your account, and you can ask us to delete your account and associated data. To make a request, just contact us.
