Questions people ask

I'm an absolute beginner, is this for me?

Type Thai is best used alongside your Thai studies. If you are learning on YouTube, it goes along perfectly with that. It will be very slow going at first, but it will click and set you up for success.

Most Thai learners take class, learn to speak, stop taking class, plateau, then regress. I personally have done this multiple times. Type Thai allows me to read & write and now learn on my own.

What if I hate it?

The free tier is very generous — it's the real trial, no card required. Get a solid feel for the whole thing before you ever pay. And if you go Yearly, you can cancel any time.

Why no monthly plan?

Reading Thai doesn't click in 30 days — it clicks over a few months of small, steady reps. A monthly plan quietly nudges you to quit before it works. Free is your no-pressure trial; Yearly is for when you're ready to actually stick with it.

What does "Lifetime" actually mean?

Forever. As long as Type Thai exists. All future features.

Can I cancel any time?

One click in your profile. No call, no email back-and-forth. Cancellation is instant.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes — it's actually mobile-first, since it started life as a mobile app. Optimized for mobile, and for a real keyboard on desktop.

Is the Thai accurate?

Every word is reviewed by native speakers. Tones, vowel groups, romanization — all hand-checked.

How does this compare to Pimsleur / Rosetta / Duolingo?

Type Thai teaches reading by doing — on natural language out in the wild in Thailand.

Duolingo doesn't have Thai. Pimsleur & Rosetta are large, expensive learning systems made in a pre-internet time.
